Mane is the royal luxurious hair along the top and sides of the neck of certain mammals such as the lion, demonstrated here. It is often also used to mock men with long hair, which actually makes it a symbol of pride for them.

Symbolic gods and goddesses are often portrayed with long flowing manes, such as Hercules.

1. A long thick growth of hair on a person’s head.
2. The long hair growing on the back of or around the neck and neighbouring parts of some animal

Usage of mane:
