Procrastination is one of those rare words that is universally applicable to all: we all take part in it at some point of time or the other.

Procrastination is derived from the Latin roots pro- (meaning ‘forward’) and crastinus (meaning ‘of tomorrow’). Thus, etymologically, it means to move forward to tomorrow. That is what a procrastinator does: he moves things forward, to the next moment, next hour, next day, the day after and so on.

As they say, ‘A procrastinator is someone who won’t take “now” for an answer.’

Procrastination carries the following dictionary definitions:
1. To put off doing something, especially out of habitual carelessness or laziness.

Usage examples for Procrastination:
1. The art of procrastination is the easiest in the world: almost everyone seems to be perfect at it.
2. Procrastination can be extremely harmful for any organization, especially if it builds into its culture.
