Let us assume the price of the brown socks = Rs. s
Then the price of the black socks = Rs. 2s
3/2 (4 x 2s + p x s) = p x 2s + 4 x s

12 + 3/2p = 2s + 4
p/2 = 8
p = 16
Therefore, the required ratio is 4/16 = ¼
