Common solution for the set:

Step 1: The family with 2 kids came just before the family with no kids. Pooja who does not have any kids reached just before Madhuri’s family

No kids family cannot be 1st and 2 kids family cannot be last

Step 2: Ritraj and his wife reached last with their only kid. Rahul is not the husband of Jyoti. Rahul and Hemin are fathers.

Ritraj, Hemin and Rahul cannot be husband of Pooja as they are fathers and Pooja has no kid. So Darpan can be Pooja’s husband.

Step 3: Only other man and woman present were Darpan and Poonam respectively, which were not necessarily husband and wife. Madhuri’s and Poonam’s daughters go to the same school.

Madhuri and Poonam have daughters.

Step 4: Jyoti came before Pooja and met Poonam when Jyoti reached the venue. Hemin said his son could not come because of his exams.

So, Hemin cannot be husband of Madhuri and Poonam. Jyoti is 2nd to come and Pooja is 3nd to come.

On analyzing the given information, we get the following table :

Their order of arrival is Rahul & Poonam, Hemin & Jyoti, Darpan & Pooja, Ritraj & Madhuri. Hence answer to these questions can be easily obtained.

Answers 1: (a)

Pooja arrive third.

The correct option is (a).

Answers 2: (b)

The correct pair of husband and wife is Ritraj and Madhuri.

The correct option is (b).

Answers 3: (c)

Ritraj’s and Rahul’s daughters go to the same school.

The correct option is (c).

Answers 4: (b) Since it was Hemin who said that ‘his son‘ could not come which he must have only said when he would be having both a son as well as a daughter as otherwise he could have easily said ‘his child could not come’ in case he had a single child. The correct option is (b).
