1. Conference on Census 2021
- Conference of the Chief Secretaries and Administrator State and Union Territories on Census 2021 and updating of National Population Register was held in New Delhi.

2. National Immunization Day
- Government of India is planning to hold a polio National Immunization Day (NID) January 19, 2020.
- Polio, short for poliomyelitis, or infantile paralysis, is an infectious disease caused by the poliovirus.
3. K-4 Ballistic Missile
- The nuclear-capable K-4 ballistic missile has been successfully test-fired by DRDO at Vizag coast in Andhra Pradesh.
- The Defence Research and Development Organisation is an agency of the Government of India, charged with the military’s research and development, headquartered in New Delhi, India.
- Dr G. Satheesh Reddy is an Indian Aerospace Scientist and the current Chairman of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Secretary, Department of Defence R&D, Government of India and Director General, Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA).
4. National Disaster Response Force
- National Disaster Response Force celebrated its 15th Raising Day on 19th January 2020.
- The National Disaster Response Force is a specialised force constituted “for the purpose of specialist response to a threatening disaster situation or disaster” under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

3. Novel Corona Virus in China
- Wuhan city of China is in grip of a new respiratory virus called Novel Corona-virus.
- It has been identified as a new strain of coronavirus of the same family as the deadly severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and the Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS).
- A different coronavirus caused the SARS outbreak in China in 2003 which killed nearly 800 people
