  1. Launch of National Coal Logistics Plan by Pralhad Joshi
  • Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister for Coal, Mines, and Parliamentary Affairs, revealed the National Coal Logistics Plan and Policy for 2023 on February 29.
  • The policy is designed to increase the use of railways for coal transport to more than 87% by the fiscal year 2029-30, in anticipation of coal demand increasing from 980 million tons to 1.5 billion tons by 2030. The plan focuses on saving costs, minimizing environmental effects, and improving the efficiency of coal transportation logistics.
  1. Formation of International Big Cat Alliance Approved by Cabinet
  • Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has sanctioned the creation of the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA), which will be headquartered in India.
