So, we are finally there!

For some, one season full of hard work and toil comes to an end.
For some, another season of the promise to work hard comes to an end.

In either case, we know this for sure: whatever happens in the exam, there is no bullet that is going to be shot in the exam. Either way, you are going to make it alive and are going to live to fight another day. Sounds strange, this advice?

Well, I am a great believer in keeping things as simple as possible. With just about 24 hours left for the exam, you need to be clear about a few things:

  1. If you miserable in RCs or LR or DI, then there is not much you can do change that.
  2. On the other hand, if you are awesome in RCs or LR or DI, then again you cannot do much to change that.

In the next 24 hours, you are not going to change your conceptual base and drastically increase your knowledge breadth. What you can do is scramble your head with the following:

  1. Thinking about your weak topics and how they are going to hurt you.

Well, you can focus on your strong topics and how they are going to be awesome for you.

Let us assume that a certain topic is appearing in the exam: TOPIC Z. You are confident about topics A to W but never studied topic Z during the course of your preparation. What should you do now? Should you leave the topics you are confident about and immerse yourself in ones you do not know? Not quite a sane strategy. I would not say that you should not look into Z but make sure that your focus remains on A to W only.

  1. Thinking about raw scores, scaled scores, the process of scaling scores and what to score to achieve what score.

Honestly, thinking about these things is going to help you score more in the exam? While reading the above sentence itself, the absurdity of thought should strike you. The only thing that impacts your score is your attempt in the exam. In the wise words of Metallica, ‘Nothing Else Matters’.

Well, the important question still remains: HOW WOULD SCORES BE NORMALIZED?
Well, GOD knows and let him do his job. You don’t know and chances are you won’t know right till the end. So the best thing you can do is make sure that you stay focused on your exam and do not let anything else weigh on your mind.

  1. Thinking about the percentile you are going to achieve and the calls you are going to get and the interviews you are going to appear for and so on.

Once again, reality check. Live the present, bud. There is no point in building sand castles. Focus on the present, and that is just about it.

So, what exactly should you be doing today?
You can do the following:

  1. A quick re-cap of important formulae and results. This should be the only academic activity you take up today. No mocks, no sectional tests, no practice exercises.
  1. Do the activity that relaxes you the most: watch a movie, spend time with your friends or family, watch your favourite television series, read a book, or watch random troll-videos. Anything and everything that relaxes you should be done.
  1. Eat and drink healthy. Go for a walk and stretch your limbs. Make sure your mental juices are flowing, and there is no better way to do so by taking up some mild form of exercise.
  1. Sleep as much as you can: trust me, nothing work better than sleeping!
  1. And go offline: STOP READING THIS RIGHT NOW!

Best of luck for your exam.

Love and best,
