Content Ad 002

Dammed means held or kept back; for example, by dirt or concrete banks: “The river was dammed so the water could be kept in check and floods prevented.”

Damned means condemned, criticized, or cursed: “Generally, all politicians are damned.”

Our friend said that she dammed her anger when she heard the preacher say we were damned because we went dancing on Sunday.
