CDS Educational Qualification
In this article you will find the detailed Educational requirements to be eligible to write the CDS Exam. The CDS exam is a gateway for all those aspirants who wish to join the prestigious Defence Services of India. Holding such a prestigious position demands that the candidate have certain minimum educational qualifications as mentioned below:
Indian Military Academy/Officers’ Training Academy: The candidates must possess a degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
Indian Naval Academy: The candidates must possess a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
Air Force Academy: The candidates must possess a degree from a recognized university having studied Physics and Mathematics at the Class 12 level or must have a Bachelor of Engineering.
Graduates who have selected the Army/Navy/Air Force as their first choice are required to submit a proof of graduation or provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB interview at the SSB.
For CDS exam, applicants can be from any stream but for entry to Air Force and Navy, candidates should have studied Physics and Mathematics up to Class 12.
Candidates who are studying in the final year of their degree course and are yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply but they will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination.
Marking Scheme of the written exam:
1. Indian Military Academy Naval Academy and Air Force Academy:
English (Objective type): 100 marks
General Knowledge (Objective type): 100 marks
Elementary Mathematics (Objective type): 100 marks
2. For Officers’ Training Academy:
English (Objective type): 100 marks
General Knowledge (Objective type): 100 marks
