1. Real Estate regulation act comes into effect.

This act will bring more clarity and fair practices that would protect the interests of buyers and also impose penalties on culpable builders.
Under this act, states had to notify the realty rules and set up Real Estate Regulatory Authority by April 30. However only one state Madhya Pradesh has set up RERA.

2. Naveen Patnaik launches startup Odisha web portal.

The portal is a one-stop platform for startups, incubators and investors in the State for registration and availing of the benefits under the Odisha startup policy.

State government aims to install a total of 2,065 such units across Maharashtra.

3. Nepal’s First woman Chief Justice suspended.

Chief justice Sushila Karki has been suspended after an impeachment motion filed against her was signed by members of parliament.
The two main parties the Maoists and the Nepali Congress have accused Sushila Karki of interference after the Supreme Court last month overturned the government’s choice for chief of police.
