  • Union Minister of State PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Jitendra Singh has inaugurated the ‘Pension Adalat’ and National Pension System (NPS) Awareness and Grievance Redressal Programme in Jammu.

3. India’s first tribal women battalion

  • Bihar Government has raised India’s first Tribal Women Battalion.
  • The ‘Bihar Police SwabhimanVahini’ with a strength of 675 constables.

4. Film editor Sreekar Prasad

  • Film editor Sreekar Prasad has entered the Limca Book of Records for ‘films edited in the most number of languages (17 languages)’.
  • AkkineniSreekar Prasad, better known as Sreekar Prasad, is an Indian film editing professional, known for his works in Indian cinema. He works predominantly on Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and English films.

International News

1. New Prime Minister of Malaysia

  • Muhyiddin Yassin has become new Prime Minister of Malaysia.
  • Capital of Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur || Currency of Malaysia: Malaysian Ringgit.

2. UN Zero Discrimination Day

  • On Zero Discrimination Day, 1 March by UNAIDS , celebrates the right of everyone to live a full and productive life—and live it with dignity.
  • Zero Discrimination Day highlights how people can become informed about and promote inclusion, compassion, peace and, above all, a movement for change.
  • Theme: ‘ZERO DISCRIMINATION AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS’.
  • The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) is the main advocate for accelerated, comprehensive and coordinated global action on the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

1. Baroda Startup Banking

  • Finance Secretary Rajiv Kumar has inaugurated Baroda Startup Banking across 15 cities in the country.
  • Bank of Baroda is an Indian Multinational, public sector Banking and financial services company. It is the second largest public sector bank in India post-merger with a business mix of close to US$225 billion. Based on 2019 data, it is ranked 1145 on Forbes Global 2000 list.

2. Long-term repo operations (LTROs) by RBI

  • RBI has announced two long-term repo operations (LTROs) for three-year tenors worth Rs 25,000 crore each to be conducted on March 2 and March 9.
  • LTROs are aimed at helping banks to reduce their lending rates, thereby quickening the monetary policy transmission.

3. Enhanced Access and Service Excellence (EASE) 3.0

  • Union Finance minister has released Enhanced Access and Service Excellence (EASE) 3.0, the new reform agenda for tech-enabled banking.
  • Aim: To provide smart, tech-enabled public sector banking experience for aspiring India.

4. ADB to raise money from rupee-linked bonds

  • Asian Development Bank has raised Rs 850 crore from a fresh issue of offshore Indian rupee-linked Bond.

  • Rafael Nadal of Spain has won Mexican Open title 2020 defeating Taylor Fritz.
  • Rafael “Rafa” Nadal Parera is a Spanish professional tennis player currently ranked world No. 2 in men’s singles tennis by the Association of Tennis Professionals.
