5. Petersberg Climate Dialogue 2023 convenes in Berlin
- Berlin, Germany was the host city for the Petersberg Dialogue 2023 focused on Climate Change.
- Germany’s Federal Foreign Office and the UAE, who will oversee COP28, jointly organized this edition of the PCD.
- This 14th dialogue series saw participation from representatives of 40 nations. It primarily aims to foster trust in international climate discussions and among nations.
- 2023 stands out as the year of the Global Stocktake, an initiative to periodically evaluate global climate actions and their alignment with the Paris Agreement’s objectives.

6. May 10 marks the International Day of Argania
- Every year, the International Day of the Argan Tree is commemorated on May 10, highlighting its global ecological significance.
- This day was instituted by UNESCO in 2021.
- Earlier, in 1988, the Arganeraie Biosphere Reserve, home to the argan tree, had been recognized by UNESCO.
- Additionally, UNESCO, in 2014, added the traditions and expertise linked with the argan tree to its List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
