1. Exercise Cope India 23 Commences in Panagarh, Kalaikunda, and Agra:

  • On April 10, 2023, a bilateral air exercise named Cope India 23 is set to begin between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the United States Air Force (USAF).
  • The exercise will be conducted at Air Force Stations Arjan Singh in Panagarh, Kalaikunda, and Agra.
  • The primary objective of this exercise is to enhance mutual understanding between the two Air Forces and share best practices.
  • Cope India 23, originally initiated in 2004, started as a fighter training exercise held at Air Station Gwalior, India.

2. UIDAI and IIT Bombay Collaborate to Develop Touchless Biometric Capture System:

  • The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-Bombay) to create a robust touchless biometric capture system.
  • Through joint research efforts, they will work on constructing a mobile capture system for fingerprints integrated with a liveness model.
  • The touchless biometric capture system aims to enable fingerprint authentication from the comfort of one’s home, similar to face authentication.

3. Google Fined $32 Million in South Korea for Anti-Competitive Behavior:

  • South Korea’s antitrust regulator has imposed a fine of 42.1 billion won ($32 million) on Alphabet Inc.’s Google for obstructing a competitor’s release of video games.
  • The Korea Fair Trade Commission revealed that Google has utilized its dominance in the mobile app market to exclude rivals.
  • This regulatory body has directed Google LLC, Google Korea, and Google Asia Pacific to discontinue providing support to mobile game companies in exchange for exclusivity commitments.

4. India Releases First Edition of Dogri Version of the Indian Constitution:

  • Union Minister of Law, Kiren Rijiju, unveiled the inaugural edition of the Dogri version of the Constitution of India at the University of Jammu.
  • During the event, he disclosed that the government is digitizing approximately 65,000 words from the legal glossary to establish a fundamental vocabulary for the comprehension of all citizens.
  • Dogri is recognized as one of India’s 22 official languages and is predominantly spoken in the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir, India.
