2. Steady Growth Observed in Direct Tax Collections for F.Y. 2022-23
- Preliminary data until 10th February 2023 suggests robust growth in Direct Tax collections, with gross collections touching Rs. 15.67 lakh crore, reflecting a 24.09% uptick compared to the same period last year.
- After accommodating for refunds, the Net Direct Tax collection stood at Rs. 12.98 lakh crore, marking an 18.40% growth over 2022’s collections.
- This accounts for 91.39% of the projected Direct Tax estimates for the fiscal year 2022-23.
