1. First Indigenous Aircraft Carrier Vikrant
- India’s 1st indigenous aircraft carrier Vikrant will be commissioned by 2021.
- Vikrant is being built at the Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) Kochi, Kerala.
- Indian Navy Chief of the Naval Staff: Admiral Karambir Singh || Navy Day: 4 December.
2. National Youth Day
- National Youth Day is celebrated on 12 January being the birthday of Swami Vivekananda.
- In 1984 the Government of India declared this day as National Youth Day and since from 1985 the event is celebrated in India every year.
3. India-2021 Census Exercise
- Census exercise India-2021 to begin on 1st April 2020 and will end on 30th of September 2020.
- Census India-2021 will be conducted through a mobile phone application.

4. National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal
- Home Minister has inaugurated the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre located in New Delhi.
- National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal enables people to report cybercrimes online.
- Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre will manage all kinds of cybercrimes comprehensively in coordinated manner.
International News
1. MILAN 2020 naval exercise
- Visakhapatnam will host MILAN 2020 naval exercise in March 2020.
- Theme: ‘Synergy Across the Seas’.
- Andhra Pradesh Capital: Amaravati || Andhra Pradesh Governor: Biswabhusan Harichandan.
2. Exercise Sea Guardians
- Exercise Sea Guardians is the Naval exercise between China and Pakistan.
- India has deployed its aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya in Arabian Sea amid the Pakistan-China naval exercise “Sea Guardians” taking place in North Arabian Sea.
3. Qaboos bin Said passed away
- The longest serving ruler of Oman Sultan Qaboos bin Said passed away.
- Qaboos bin Said Al Said was the Sultan of Oman from 23 July 1970 until his death. A fifteenth-generation descendant of the founder of the House of Al Said, he was the longest-serving leader in the Middle East and Arab world at the time of his death.

1. Video based Customer Identification Process (V-CIP)
- RBI has revised the Know Your Customer (KYC) norms for banks and other lending institutions by allowing banks and other lending institutions to use ‘Video based Customer Identification Process (V-CIP)’.

2. New CMD of Housing and Urban Development Corporation
- M Nagaraj has been appointed the company’s Chairman and Managing Director of State-owned Housing and Urban Development Corporation
- The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited is a government-owned corporation in India. One of the public sector undertakings, it is wholly owned by the Union Government and is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation.

3. State Energy Efficiency Index 2019
- Union Government has released State Energy Efficiency Index 2019, developed by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) along with Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE).
- The Index has divided States/UTs into 4 groups on the basis of Total Primary Energy Supply (TPES) desired to meet the State’s/UT’s actual energy demand through electricity, coal, oil, gas, etc.
- The 4 groups are: ‘Front Runner’, ‘Achiever’, ‘Contender’ and ‘Aspirant’.
- The State Energy Efficiency Index 2019 was topped by Haryana, Karnataka and Kerala. All were in “Achiever” group
- There was not a single state in the “Front Runner” group.

1. BCCI’s Polly Umrigar award
- Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah will receive the BCCI’s prestigious Polly Umrigar Award
- Polly Umrigar was an Indian cricketer. He played first-class cricket for Bombay and Gujarat, and Test cricket in the Indian cricket team, mainly as a middle-order batsman but also bowling occasional medium pace and off spin.
