1. “Naatu Naatu” from RRR Wins Best Original Song at the 95th Oscars
- The song “Naatu Naatu” from the film RRR bagged the 2023 Academy Award for Best Original Song.
- It was composed by M. M. Keeravani and penned by Chandrabosedoubledagger.
- “The Elephant Whisperers,” directed by Kartiki Gonsalves, clinched the award for Best Documentary Short Subject from India.
- Michelle Yeoh received the Best Actress award for “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” while Brendan Fraser was named Best Actor for “The Whale.”

2. Inaugural Supreme Audit Institution (SAI20) Meeting Starts in Guwahati
- The first-ever Senior Officers Meeting (SOM) of the Supreme Audit Institution 20 (SAI20) is being hosted in Guwahati, focusing on the ‘Blue Economy’ and ‘Responsible Artificial Intelligence’ themes.
- SAI20 aims to foster an environment where SAIs enhance transparency and governance.
- Representatives from G20 nations, invited countries, and global entities are attending the meeting.
- Direct participants include delegates from countries like Australia, Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Oman, South Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and UAE.
3. PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway
- PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway located in Mandya district of Karnataka.
- The expressway, which had an investment of over Rs 8400 crore, is a 10-lane route meant to boost connectivity and development within the state.
- The 118 km expressway will reduce the travel time between Bengaluru and Mysuru to about 75 minutes from the previous three hours.
- Other key events by PM Modi include the initiation of the 14th Aero India show in Bengaluru, phases of the Delhi-Mumbai expressway, and more.

4. India and US Strengthen Ties in Semiconductor Supply Chain
- India and the United States have inked a preliminary agreement to enhance collaboration in the semiconductor sector.
- This partnership will focus on creating business opportunities and building a robust ecosystem, reducing dependence on nations like China and Taiwan.
- A dedicated subcommittee for semiconductors is to be established, overseen by the US Department of Commerce and, for India, by MeitY and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

5. Kochi Metro Introduces E-rupee Payments for Parking
- In an effort to promote the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), Kochi Metro has introduced the e-rupee payment system for its parking services.
- Kochi Metro is the first in India to implement CBDC for such services.
- The initiative began at the Thykoodam parking area, with intentions to roll it out to all Metro parking zones soon.
- This move is a collaborative effort between IDFC FIRST Bank and tech startup, Anantham Online.
