  • The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been granted observer status in the Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG) during a meeting held in Vancouver, Canada. With this, the UAE becomes the first Arab nation to achieve this recognition.
  • The move signifies the UAE’s dedication to strengthening global partnerships to tackle issues of money laundering and terror funding. Observer status in such regional groups is typically granted to countries actively addressing financial crimes.

2. Strengthening IndoFrench and IndoUAE Ties

  • Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, will be visiting France and the UAE from July 13th to 15th. This visit underlines the intent to fortify cooperation in areas such as defense, energy, security, and overall global partnerships.
