1. ESA’s JUICE Mission Launched to Investigate Jupiter’s Icy Moons
- On April 14, 2023, the European Space Agency (ESA) successfully initiated its flagship JUICE (JUpiter ICy moons Explorer) mission.
- This mission was launched into space aboard an Ariane 5 rocket from Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
- JUICE embarks on an eight-year journey to reach the planet Jupiter.
- The primary objective of this mission is to explore the possibility of habitable environments on Jupiter’s icy moons and in the vicinity of the planet.
- It will conduct in-depth observations of Jupiter itself and three of its significant moons: Ganymede, Callisto, and Europa.

2. Telangana CM KCR Unveils Monumental Ambedkar Statue in Hyderabad
- Telangana’s Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, unveiled a towering bronze statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Hyderabad to commemorate the 132nd birth anniversary of the visionary behind India’s Constitution.
- This statue is India’s tallest depiction of Dr. Ambedkar and was crafted from 360 tonnes of stainless steel and 114 tonnes of bronze, with a total expenditure of ₹146.50 crore.
- The Telangana government has also instituted an annual award in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s name, to be presented on his birth anniversary, honoring those who contribute to Dalit Welfare.

- MRF received high ratings across various criteria and has also been recognized as the second-fastest-growing tyre brand in the world.
