1. Kagiso Rabada Sets IPL Wicket-taking Record
- Kagiso Rabada of the Punjab Kings recently marked a significant achievement by becoming the quickest bowler to claim 100 IPL wickets. This achievement came during their game against Gujarat Titans at the IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.
- This record was in terms of the number of matches taken to reach the 100-wicket milestone.
- Securing his 100th wicket during his 64th IPL game by dismissing Wriddhiman Saha, Rabada surpassed Lasith Malinga who had previously achieved this in his 70th game.
- Following in line after Rabada and Malinga is Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the speediest Indian to this landmark, with Rashid Khan, Amit Mishra, and Ashish Nehra jointly occupying the fourth position after taking 83 matches. Yuzvendra Chahal completes the top five with 84 matches.

2. Demise of Acclaimed Actress Uttara Baokar
- The renowned actress of film and television, Uttara Baokar, recently passed away at the age of 79 in Pune.
- Her notable achievements include receiving the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1984, a prestigious recognition in India for acting.
- Uttara’s portfolio includes Marathi films such as Doghi (1995) alongside actors Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Renuka Daftardar, as well as Uttarayan (2005), Shevri (2006), and Restaurant (2006) where she shared the screen with Sonali Kulkarni. Her role in the movie Tamas by Govind Nihlani was especially recognized.
- Throughout her career, she portrayed diverse characters in various plays, with roles like Padmavati in Mukyhamantri and Mena in Mena Gurjari standing out.

3. Publication of the Banking on Climate Chaos Report
- The recent Banking on Climate Chaos report has unveiled that since 2016, the world’s 60 leading banks have financed fossil fuel projects worth an astounding $5.5 trillion (equivalent to Rs 4,49,36,265 crore).
- This report was a collective effort and was brought out by organizations including the Rainforest Action Network, BankTrack, Indigenous Environmental Network, Oil Change International, Reclaim Finance, Sierra Club, and Urgewald.
- Among the banks, JPMorgan Chase & Co emerged as the top financier with an investment of $434.15 billion, trailed by Citibank NA, Wells Fargo & Company, and Bank of America Corporation.

4. Observance of World Voice Day on 16th April
- Every year, April 16th is marked as World Voice Day (WVD).
- The primary aim of this day is to emphasize the importance of proper care and training for the human voice, especially for those who rely on their voice for professional or hobbyist pursuits.
- The voice holds paramount importance in facilitating healthy human interactions. Through World Voice Day, there is a global push to shed light on voice care, voice problem interventions, voice training for artists, and to encourage further exploration and study of the human voice.
- The Society of Laryngology & Voice in Brazil first championed the idea of dedicating a day for voice awareness, choosing April 16th as the annual observance back in 1999.
