2. ‘Swachhata Pakhwada-2023’ Initiated by Ministry of Railways

  • The Ministry of Railways, committed to cleanliness, has begun the Swachhata Pakhwada 2023 campaign starting from 15th September 2023.

4. Trade Deficit for India Decreases in September

  • In September 2023, India’s merchandise exports dropped by 6.86% to $34.48 billion year-on-year. Sectors like Non-petroleum and non-gems and jewellery saw this decline.
  • Both imports and exports decreased, but the trade deficit for September 2023 shrank to $24.16 billion, marking a 2.8% improvement from the previous year. Total exports and imports for the month were $60.87 billion and $72.50 billion, respectively, resulting in a trade deficit of $11.63 billion.
