1. ‘Cycle for Health’ Rally in New Delhi
- The ‘Cycle for Health’ cyclathon was hosted at Lady Hardinge Medical College under the aegis of the Union Health Ministry.
- The event aimed to underscore the importance of mental and physical well-being while also advocating for environmentally friendly transport options.
- This rally is an offshoot of the ‘Swastha Mann, Swastha Ghar’ campaign, initiated in November 2022, which promotes health-conscious living.
- Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, not only graced the event but also participated in the cyclathon.
2. Mumbai’s First Double-Decker Electric AC Bus
- Mumbai’s BEST has unveiled the country’s first electric double-decker bus equipped with air conditioning.
- Designed to ferry 73 passengers, the bus is kitted out with safety amenities like CCTV cameras and automatic doors. Its fast-charging capability juices it up in just 80 minutes.
- Fares commence at Rs 6 for the initial 5 km journey.
- BEST currently operates 45 of these electric AC buses and intends to add 100 more to its fleet on a wet-lease basis throughout the year.

3. ICAI Council’s New President – Aniket Sunil Talati
- Aniket Sunil Talati has been elected as the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Council for 2023-24. Concurrently, Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal has been designated as the Vice President.
- Aniket also helms the ICAI’s Accounting Research Foundation (ICAI ARF) as its Director.
- His unwavering commitment to ICAI is manifested through his association with several of its committees, encompassing the Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals of ICAI (IIIPI), Accounting Research Foundation (ICAI ARF), and Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) India.

4. Smriti Mandhana: The Crown Jewel of Women’s Premier League Auction
- Smriti Mandhana, the Indian opening dynamo, clinched the title of the most sought-after player at the Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction.
- Her skills were vied for by Royal Challengers Bangalore, who eventually secured her with a hefty bid of Rs 3.4 crore during the WPL 2023 auction in Mumbai.
