1. FICCI ARISE conference 2019

  • Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has inaugurated the FICCI ARISE Conference on School Education in New Delhi.
  • Theme: ‘Future Ready Learners and Schools’.

2. National Ganga Council

  • PM Modi has chaired the first meeting of the National Ganga Council in Kanpur.
  • The Ganges is a trans-boundary river of Asia which flows through India and Bangladesh. The 2,525 km river rises in the western Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, and flows south and east through the Gangetic Plain of India and Bangladesh, eventually emptying into the Bay of Bengal.

3. Haryana Police to use ‘Trakea’ Software

  • Haryana police have introduced a unique barcoding software ‘Trakea’ to enable foolproof security of the samples collected in Forensic reports.
  • Haryana became the first state in the country to introduce this unique barcoding system.

4. Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card Award

  • Lieutenant Colonel Swaroop Singh Kuntal awarded on the spot Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card by Army Chief General Bipin Rawat for winning Ultraman India.
  • Ultraman consists of 10 km swimming, 424 km cycling and 84 km running.

International News

1. Miss World 2019

  • Toni-Ann Singh is a Jamaican-American beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss World 2019.
  • She was previously crowned Miss Jamaica World 2019, and is the fourth woman from Jamaica to win Miss World.
  • Suman Ratan Singh Rao is an Indian model and beauty pageant title holder who was crowned Femina Miss India 2019 She represented India at the Miss World 2019 pageant in ExCeL London in United Kingdom, and was crowned as 2nd runner-up .

2. World Design Protopolis

  • World Design Organization has launch its new global programme World Design Protopolis in Bengaluru.
  • Aim: To implement holistic progress in megacities across the world and thus making them sustainable.

3. United Nations Climate Change Conference

  • The 25th edition of United Nations Climate Change conference held in Madrid, Spain under the presidency of the Chilean Government.
  • The 26th edition of United Nations Climate Change conference is expected to take place from 9 to 19 November 2020, in Glasgow, Scotland, UK.

4. Exercise HAND-IN-HAND 2019

  • The 8th India-China joint training exercise ‘HAND-IN-HAND 2019’ was held in Meghalaya.

1. Bharat Bond ETF

  • Edelweiss Asset Management Company has launched India’s 1st Corporate Bond ETF called the Bharat Bond ETF.
  • Exchange Trade Fund is a Government initiative and Edelweiss AMC was given the mandate to design and manage the product.
  • Small retail investors will have to invest at least Rs 1000 in this fund can have multiple investment upto 2 lakhs.
  • The minimum amount for anchor investors has been fixed at Rs 10 crore.

2. India’s NAVIC Satellite

  • USA Congress has given its nod to designate India’s NAVIC as its allied navigational satellite system.
  • The Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System, with an operational name of NAVIC, is an autonomous regional satellite navigation system that provides accurate real-time positioning and timing services. It covers India and a region extending 1,500 km around it, with plans for further extension.

3. ‘I Have Space’ (IHS) programme by Amazon

  • Amazon India has partnered with local store owners under its ‘I Have Space’ (IHS) programme to provide pickup and delivery services to users.
  • Amazon is an American multinational technology company based in Seattle that focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. It is considered one of the Big Four tech companies, along with Google, Apple, and Facebook.

4. Google Earth

  • Google Earth covers 98% of entire population.
  • Google Earth is a computer program that renders a 3D representation of Earth based primarily on satellite imagery. The program maps the Earth by superimposing satellite images, aerial photography, and GIS data onto a 3D globe, allowing users to see cities and landscapes from various angles.

  • This is a list with all the WTA Awards given by the Women’s Tennis Association to players for achievements during the season or their career.

2. Mumbai City FC’s U18 suspended for a year

  • Mumbai City FC’s U18 side was suspended for a year and fined Rs. 10 Lakh by Mumbai District Football Association.
  • Mumbai City Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, which competes in the Indian Super League under licence from the All India Football Federation. The team is co-owned by City Football Group, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and Bimal Parekh, a chartered accountant.

3. Peter Snell passes away

  • Peter Snell was a New Zealand middle-distance runner.
  • He won three Olympic gold medals, and is the only male since 1920 to have won the 800 and 1500 metres at the same Olympics, in 1964.
