1. Neal Mohan Becomes New CEO of YouTube

  • Neal Mohan, an Indian-American, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of YouTube, succeeding Susan Wojcicki, who has held the position for 25 years.
  • Mohan initially joined Google in 2008 and later assumed the role of Chief Product Officer at YouTube in 2015.
  • Before his tenure at Google, he worked as a Senior Analyst at Accenture and subsequently joined Microsoft.
  • Neal Mohan holds an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

2. Dharma Guardian-2023 Joint Military Exercise Begins

  • The fourth edition of the joint military exercise called “EX DHARMA GUARDIAN” has commenced in Camp Imazu, Shiga province, Japan, running from February 17th to March 2nd, 2023.
  • This exercise focuses on platoon-level joint training for operations in jungle, semi-urban, and urban terrains.
  • Participants include troops from the Indian Army’s Garhwal Rifles Regiment and Japan’s Infantry Regiment.
  • The primary objective is to enhance inter-operability in planning and execution.

4. IIT Kanpur’s Energy-Efficient Coal and Minerals Transport System

  • IIT Kanpur has introduced an energy-efficient pipeline system based on compressed air to transport coal and minerals.
  • This innovation is designed to facilitate the continuous and cost-effective movement of these materials while enabling round-the-clock monitoring.
  • The cargo-based hyperloop system was developed by Professor Bishakh Bhattacharya, along with research scientists Kanhaiya Lal Chaurasia and Yashasvi Sinha.
