1. Neal Mohan Becomes New CEO of YouTube

Neal Mohan, an Indian-American, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of YouTube, succeeding Susan Wojcicki, who has held the position for 25 years.
Mohan initially joined Google in 2008 and later assumed the role of Chief Product Officer at YouTube in 2015.
Before his tenure at Google, he worked as a Senior Analyst at Accenture and subsequently joined Microsoft.
Neal Mohan holds an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

2. Dharma Guardian-2023 Joint Military Exercise Begins

The fourth edition of the joint military exercise called “EX DHARMA GUARDIAN” has commenced in Camp Imazu, Shiga province, Japan, running from February 17th to March 2nd, 2023.
This exercise focuses on platoon-level joint training for operations in jungle, semi-urban, and urban terrains.
Participants include troops from the Indian Army’s Garhwal Rifles Regiment and Japan’s Infantry Regiment.
The primary objective is to enhance inter-operability in planning and execution.

3. Hyundai Motors India Adds Women Cricketers as Ambassadors

Hyundai Motor India Ltd has expanded its list of brand ambassadors by signing two emerging women cricketers, Yastika Bhatia and Renuka Singh Thakur.
Bhatia and Thakur will join the ranks of existing brand ambassadors such as Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, and Jemimah Rodrigues.
Hyundai acknowledges these women as promising sports stars and plans to feature them prominently in the 2023 women’s cricket calendar.
Hyundai Motor India has announced the next edition of its campaign, ‘The Drive Within,’ featuring these five women cricketers.

4. IIT Kanpur’s Energy-Efficient Coal and Minerals Transport System

IIT Kanpur has introduced an energy-efficient pipeline system based on compressed air to transport coal and minerals.
This innovation is designed to facilitate the continuous and cost-effective movement of these materials while enabling round-the-clock monitoring.
The cargo-based hyperloop system was developed by Professor Bishakh Bhattacharya, along with research scientists Kanhaiya Lal Chaurasia and Yashasvi Sinha.
It aims to address challenges such as material loss, delivery time uncertainty, and air pollution.

5. Conclusion of the 17th Edition of India-US Exercise “TARKASH” in Chennai

The 17th edition of the joint exercise “TARKASH” was successfully concluded in Chennai, involving the National Security Guard (NSG) and the US Special Operations Force (SOF).
This edition marked the inclusion of training related to “Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Terror Response” for the first time.
The exercise encompassed preparations to counter chemical and biological attacks by terrorists, reflecting current concerns related to the Russia-Ukraine war.
Last year, allegations were made that Ukraine received aid from Western countries and faced a chemical attack in Kharkiv.
