1. ADB Grants USD 40.5 Million Loan for Child Development and Maternal Health in Meghalaya
- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a USD 40.5 million loan aimed at improving early childhood care and maternal psychological health in the northeastern state of Meghalaya.
- Additionally, the Meghalaya government will provide an extra USD 15.27 million to strengthen both home and center-based childcare through the enhancement of Anganwadi centers.
- The ADB-funded initiative will see the renovation of 1,800 existing Anganwadi facilities and the construction of approximately 600 new centers, primarily focused on aiding remote and underserved communities.
2. Tamil Nadu to House India’s Premier Drone Testing Facility
- The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) plans to establish India’s first Drone Common Testing Center with an investment of Rs 45 crore.
- As part of its ambition to be a leader in the Aerospace and Defence sectors, Tamil Nadu aims to foster innovative projects in these fields.
- Located in the SIPCOT Industrial Park, Vallam Vadagal near Sriperumbudur, the 2.3-acre center aims to enhance India’s capabilities in drone technology.
3. Indian Government Initiates ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign’
- The Indian Government has launched the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign’ as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
