1. Kartarpur Corridor

  • PM Modi will inaugurate the Kartarpur Corridor to Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan on 8th November 2019.
  • The Kartarpur Corridor is an under-construction border corridor between the neighbouring nations of India and Pakistan, connecting the Sikh shrines of Dera Baba Nanak Sahib and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur.

2. Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Tunnel

  • Chenani-Nashri Tunnel of Jammu and Kashmir will be renamed after Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
  • It is a 9.2 km long tunnel that reduces the distance between Jammu and Srinagar by 31 km.
  • Syama Prasad Mukherjee was an Indian politician, barrister and academician, who served as the Minister for Industry and Supply in Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s cabinet.

  • Ministry of Textile Secretary, Ravi Kapoor has inaugurated 48th edition of the Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair (IHGF) in Delhi.

  • UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation Awards were announced at a ceremony held in Penang, Malaysia.
  • Four heritage from India were chosen for UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation 2019.

2. World’s first solid Gold Payment Card

  • UK’s Royal Mint has claimed to have unveiled the world’s first Solid Gold Payment Card of 18-karat gold.
  • The Royal Mint is a government-owned mint that produces coins for the United Kingdom. Operating under the name Royal Mint Ltd, the mint is a limited company that is wholly owned by Her Majesty’s Treasury and is under an exclusive contract to supply all the nation’s coinage.

3. Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence

  • UAE has announced the establishment of World’s first AI university ‘Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence’.
  • Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, colloquially known by his initials as MBZ, is the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces.
