2. First Indian Railways zone to have energy-neutral stations

  • South Central Railways zone has become the first zonal railway in the country to have functional “energy neutral” railway stations on the network.

1. World Bank loan for ‘Atal Bhujal Yojana’

  • Indian Government has signed USD 450 million loan agreement with the World Bank for Atal Bhujal Yojana.
  • Atal Bhujal Yojana is a groundwater management scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 95th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on 25 December 2019. The purpose of the scheme is to scheme to improve groundwater management in seven states of India.
  • The World Bank is an international financial institution that provides loans and grants to the governments of poorer countries for the purpose of pursuing capital projects. It comprises of two institutions: the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the International Development Association.

2. 2020 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 26)

  • The 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 26) to the UNFCCC will take place from 9-19 November 2020, in Glasgow, UK.

2. Manchester City FC is banned
