  • Lt. Cdr. Karabi Gogoi has become the first woman officer from the Indian Navy to be posted as a Defence Attache at an Indian mission abroad.
  • She has been posted as the Assistant Naval Attache at the Indian embassy in Moscow.

4. Asian Film Festival Barcelona

  • The Barcelona Asian Film Festival is back with 7th edition with more than a hun-dred films from 25 countries of the Asian continent.
  • Movie ‘Bhonsle’ has won prestigious awards under ‘Best Screenplay’ and ‘Best Director’ categories at the Asian Film Festival Barcelona.
  • Bhonsle is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language drama film written and directed by Devashish Makhija. The film stars Manoj Bajpayee, who is also the co-producer, in the title role of a retired Mumbai cop who befriends a North Indian girl and her brother, when the local politicians are trying to get rid of the migrants.

  • Tobacco Board of India has been awarded the Golden Leaf Award at Tab Expo 2019.

3. Insurance cover on bank deposits

  • Government of India is considering proposals to increase the deposit insurance cover provided by Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation.
  • The deposit insurance cover has remained unchanged since 1993 at Rs 1 lakh.

1. Tony Mann passes away

  • Former Australia leg-spinner Tony Mann has passed away.
  • Anthony Longford Mann was an Australian cricketer who played in four Tests from 1977 to 1978. He was only the second man in history to score a century in a Test match after being sent in as night-watchman.

2. Delhi and District Cricket Association President

  • Delhi and District Cricket Association President Rajat Sharma has resigned from his post.
  • Rajat Sharma is the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, India TV. He is the anchor and inventor of the very famous TV show “Aap Ki Adalat”. He is popularly known for his pro-BJP inclination of his channel.
