1. Leadership Change at Jaguar Land Rover India

  • Rajan Amba has been appointed as the Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover India, starting his tenure on March 1, 2023.
  • He succeeds Rohit Suri, who declared his retirement as MD and President in January 2023.
  • Earlier, Rajan Amba worked as the Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Care at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles.
  • He also maintained the position of Chief Operating Officer at Carat Lane, a subsidiary of Titan.

2. Lt General MV Suchindra Kumar Named Vice Chief of Army

  • Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar has been named as the new Vice Chief of Army Staff.
  • He presently occupies the post of Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy) at Army Headquarters.
  • Lt Gen B S Raju, the departing Vice Chief, is set to become the South Western Army Commander based in Jaipur.
  • Furthermore, Lt Gen NSR Subramani is assigned as the upcoming Central Army Commander in Lucknow.
  • These assignments will become effective on March 1.

3. Cheetah Reintroduction Project in Kuno National Park

  • A dozen cheetahs, comprising seven males and five females, have been transferred from South Africa to Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh.
  • The inauguration of these cheetahs was presided over by Union Ministers Bhupendra Yadav and Narendra Singh Tomar, along with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
  • This venture is a segment of the Cheetah Reintroduction Project following an agreement between South Africa and India.
  • As a result, the cheetah tally in Kuno National Park has risen from 8 to 20.

4. India’s Premier Waste-to-Hydrogen Plant in Pune

  • India is set to inaugurate its first waste-to-hydrogen facility in Pune, projected to cost Rs 430 crores.
  • The project will be spearheaded by the private enterprise Green Billion Limited.
  • In a partnership spanning 30 years, the firm will join forces with the Pune Municipal Corporation.
  • The establishment’s primary mission is to handle 350 tonnes of solid refuse every day, which will lead to the generation of ten tonnes of hydrogen daily.
  • The infrastructure is earmarked for establishment in Pune’s Hadapsar Industrial Estate, representing a groundbreaking endeavor in the nation.

5. IAF Innovates ‘Vayulink’ for Secure Communication

  • The Indian Air Force (IAF) has conceived a unique tool termed ‘Vayulink’ to ensure dependable radio communication even in challenging signal conditions.
  • This innovation proves especially valuable for aviators operating amidst challenging meteorological conditions, delivering jamming-resistant, consistent communication with the base.
  • ‘Vayulink’ acts as a makeshift data link communication mechanism and will be incorporated into aircraft, relaying encrypted traffic information and data on proximate planes over a protected channel.
