1. Bengaluru Unveils India’s Premier 3D Printed Post Office
- Bengaluru, often regarded as India’s technological hub, has inaugurated its first 3D printed post office, situated in Cambridge Layout near Ulsoor.
- The modern construction, spanning over 1,021 square feet, was finalized in just 43 days as opposed to the usual ten months of traditional construction.
- Larsen and Toubro, a leading construction firm, partnered with IIT Madras for technical insights, completing the project in May 2023 with a budget of Rs 23 lakh.
2. India’s GDP Growth Predicted at 6% for FY24 by Crisil
- Crisil, an esteemed rating agency, projects a 6% GDP growth for India in the fiscal year 2024.
- This prediction is slightly lower than the NSO’s 7% estimation for 2023.
- Despite this, Crisil remains positive about India’s economic trajectory in the medium term, forecasting an average growth of 6.8% over the upcoming five fiscal years.
- Enhancements in capital investments and productivity are credited for this anticipated growth.
3. Innovative Lending Products Unveiled by Axis Bank in Collaboration with RBI Innovation Hub
- Axis Bank and the RBI Innovation Hub have announced a partnership to launch two innovative lending products.
- The Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) initiative will offer eligible farmers a credit limit of up to Rs 1.6 lakh.
- Unsecured loans targeting the growth of MSMEs will also be available, with qualifying businesses eligible for up to Rs 10 lakh.
4. RBI’s UDGAM: A Centralized Platform for Retrieving Unclaimed Deposits
- The RBI introduced the UDGAM portal as a consolidated solution for individuals to locate and claim their unclaimed bank deposits.
- Developed in collaboration with ReBIT, IFTAS, and selected banks, the portal provides a unified platform for gathering information from various banks.
5. AICTE and Jio Institute Advocate AI & Data Science Education
- The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has partnered with Jio Institute to launch a comprehensive faculty development program.
- This program aims to equip educators with in-depth knowledge of AI and Data Science, including both technological and ethical aspects.
