7. Merger of AU Small Finance Bank and Fincare Small Finance Bank

  • AU Small Finance Bank Limited and Fincare Small Finance Bank Limited agreed to merge in an all-stock deal valued at Rs 4,411 crore.
  • The merged entity will operate under the AU Small Finance Bank brand, as approved by both banks’ boards.

8. EHang’s Flying Taxi Certification in China

  • EHang, a drone startup, received certification from China’s Civil Aviation Administration for its passenger-carrying flying taxi, the EH216S.
  • This electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft can carry two people or 600 pounds of cargo, reaching speeds of up to 80 mph over distances up to 18 miles.

9. Discovery of New Mushroom Species in Western Ghats

  • A new mushroom species named “Candolleomyces albosquamosus” was identified in the Western Ghats, Kerala, by researchers at the Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute (JNTBGRI).
