1. Chandrayaan-2

• Indian Space Research Organisation’s second Moon mission Chandrayaan-2 will launch in July 2019.
• Chandrayaan-2 is India’s second lunar exploration mission after Chandrayaan-1. Developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation, the mission is planned to be launched to the Moon by a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III.
• It includes a lunar orbiter, lander and rover, all developed by India.

2. Income Tax Department to share ITR with GSTN

• Government of India has authorised Income Tax Department to share details disclosed by businesses in their Income Tax Returns with Goods and Services Tax Network.
• Goods and Services Tax is an indirect tax imposed in India on the supply of goods and services. It is a comprehensive multistage, destination based tax. Comprehensive because it has subsumed almost all the indirect taxes except few.
• The Income Tax Department is a government agency undertaking direct tax collection of the Government of India. It functions under the Department of Revenue of the Ministry of Finance. Income Tax Department is headed by the apex body Central Board of Direct Taxes.

3. Naval Exercise ‘Varuna’

• Indo-French joint Naval Exercise ‘Varuna’ has started in Goa.
• INS Vikramaditya will take part in the drill with French carrier Charles De Gaulle.
• INS Vikramaditya is a modified Kiev-class aircraft carrier which entered into service with the Indian Navy in 2013. She has been renamed in honour of Vikramaditya, a legendary emperor of Ujjain, India.

1. ‘Operation Swift Retort’

• Pakistan Air Force will observe its retaliatory action against Balakot strike of Indian Air Force as ‘Operation Swift Retort’.

2. Environment and Climate Emergency

• The United Kingdom has become first country in the world to declare an environment and climate emergency.
• UK Parliament approved a motion from Jeremy Corbyn (Labour leader) which aimed to achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.

3. Financial Action Task Force (FATF)

• India will request to block Pakistan by Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
• Pakistan is in FATF’s ‘grey list’ since June 2018
• The Financial Action Task Force, also known by its French name, Grouped’actionfinancière, is an intergovernmental organization founded in 1989 on the initiative of the G7 to develop policies to combat money laundering. In 2001 its mandate expanded to include terrorism financing.

4. Masood Azhar as a Global terrorist

• Masood Azhar was listed as an international terrorist by United Nations Security Council.
• Masood Azhar is the founder and leader of the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed, active mainly in the Pakistani-administered portion of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. On 1 May 2019.

• India Ratings & Research has lowered India’s Growth forecast for the current fiscal to 7.3%, from 7.5%.

4. OYO’s New Acquisition

• OYO has acquired Amsterdam-based vacation rental company @Leisure Group.
• OYO Rooms, commonly known as OYO, is India’s largest hospitality company, consisting mainly of budget hotels. It was founded in 2013 by Ritesh Agarwal and has since grown to over 12,000 hotels in 337 cities in India, Malaysia, UAE, Nepal, China and Indonesia.

1. Stuttgart’s Porsche Grand Prix 2019

• Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic has won Stuttgart’s Porsche Grand Prix.
• She defeated Anett Kontaveit of Estonia.
• The Stuttgart Open, also known by its sponsored name Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, is a women’s tennis tournament held in Stuttgart, Germany. Held since 1978, the tournament is the oldest women’s indoor tournament in Europe.

2. Stéphanie Frappart :- Association football referee

• Stephanie Frappart became the first woman to referee a French Ligue 1 match.
• Ligue 1, also called Ligue 1 Conforama for sponsorship reasons with Conforama, is a French professional league for men’s association football clubs. At the top of the French football league system, it is the country’s primary football competition.
• Stéphanie Frappart is a French football referee. She has been on the FIFA International Referees List since 2011. In 2014 Frappart became the first woman to referee in Ligue 2, the second tier of professional men’s football in France.

3. Asian Road para-cycling Championships

• The Asian Road para-cycling championships was held at Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
• India has secured a Silver and 2 Bronze medals.
• Divij Shah has clinched silver
• Gurlal Singh and Sudhakar Marathe clinched bronze.

4. President of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC)

• Kumar Sangakkara has been named as next President of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
• He has become first non-British President of the club.
• Kumar Sangakkara is a Sri Lankan cricket commentator and former cricketer and captain of the Sri Lankan national team. He is widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential cricketers and one of the greatest batsmen of all-time.
• Marylebone Cricket Club is a cricket club founded in 1787 and based since 1814 at Lord’s cricket ground, which it owns, in St John’s Wood, London, England. The club was formerly the governing body of cricket in England and Wales and, as the sport’s legislator, held considerable global influence.
