RBI Imposes Fine on Muthoot Finance Limited for KYC Non-Compliance

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a fine of ₹1,90,000 (1.9 lakh) on Muthoot Finance Limited due to non-compliance with the ‘Know Your Customer (KYC) Directions, 2016’. In June 2024, the RBI also levied a monetary penalty of ₹29.60 lakh on The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) for failing to adhere to specific RBI directions.
