2. Joint DRDO & Navy Trial of BMD Interceptor Sees Success
- In a collaborative effort, the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Navy successfully executed an inaugural flight test of a sea-based endo-atmospheric interceptor missile near the Odisha coast in the Bay of Bengal.
- Objective: The trial’s main goal was to confront and nullify an adversarial ballistic missile, placing India in a rare league of nations boasting Naval BMD capability.

3. Nagaland Gains Approval for Its First Medical Institute
- The National Medical Commission (NMC) has greenlit the establishment of the Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, marking the first-ever medical college in the northeastern region of Nagaland.
- Interestingly, this comes six decades after Nagaland achieved statehood in 1963.
- The college is slated to commence its academic year in 2023-24 and will offer 100 MBBS seats, 85 of which are allocated for local Nagaland students while the remaining 15 are for aspirants from other Indian states.

4. PFC Grants Loan to Gensol Engineering for EV Acquisition
- Gensol Engineering Ltd (GEL) secured a loan of Rs 633 crore from Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC), a distinguished Maharatna company, intended for the procurement of 5,000 electric passenger vehicles and 1,000 electric freight vehicles.
- As a key player in the Indian energy sector, PFC’s financed passenger EVs, specifically the E4W, are now operational in Delhi, promoting a reduction in CO2 emissions. The move aligns with PFC’s initiative to bolster India’s transition to a zero-carbon future, with plans to finance EVs, batteries, and charging stations.

5. ISRO’s Successful Satellite Launch via PSLV-C55
- The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) triumphantly deployed the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle C55 (PSLV-C55), launching two Singaporean satellites, namely Singapore’s TeLEOS-2 and LUMELITE-4, from its base in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
