1. Bharatiya Poshan Krishi Kosh

  • Minister of Women and Child Development and Textiles, Smriti Irani, along with Bill Gates launched the Bharatiya Poshan Krishi Kosh (BPKK).
  • The BPKK will be a repository of diverse crops across 128 agro-climatic zones in India for better nutritional outcomes.

2. Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) ‘Amrit Kaur’

  • Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd delivered to the Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) ‘Amrit Kaur’.
  • Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) ‘Amrit Kaur’ is the third in a series of five ‘Fast Patrol Vessels’.
  • Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd, abbreviated as GRSE, is one of India’s leading shipyards, located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It builds and repairs commercial and naval vessels. Presently GRSE has also started building export ships in a mission to expand its business.

3. South Asia Safety Summit

  • The 2nd edition of South Asia Safety Summit was held in New Delhi.
  • South Asia Safety Summit is Facebook’s annual event to host critical conversations on digital safety and security.
  • Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani addressed the 2nd edition of South Asia Safety Summit in New Delhi.

4. Census 2021

  • Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai informed that Census 2021 will be conducted in 16 languages.
  • Census will be conducted in two phases:
  • House-listing and Housing Census from April to September 2020
  • Population Enumeration from February 09-28, 2021.
  • Expenditure Finance Committee has recommended an amount of Rs. 8754.23 crore for conducting Census 2021 in 16 languages.

1. Sir David Attenborough

  • Naturalist Sir David Attenborough of United Kingdom will receive Indira Gandhi peace prize 2019.
  • Sir David Frederick Attenborough is an English broadcaster and natural historian.
  • Indira Gandhi peace prize has been accorded annually by Indira Gandhi Trust since 1986.
  • The award consists of a monetary award of 25 lakhs and a citation.

2. Fibonacci day

  • November 23 is celebrated as Fibonacci day.
  • when the date is written in the mm/dd format (11/23), the digits in the date form a Fibonacci sequence: 1,1,2,3.
  • A Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where a number is the sum of the two numbers before it. For example: 1, 1, 2, 3…is a Fibonacci sequence.
  • Acharya Pingala creator of Fibonacci sequence, called mātrāmeru, was an ancient Indian mathematician who authored the Chandaḥśāstra (also called Pingala-sutras), the earliest known treatise on Sanskrit prosody.

  • The 50th Edition of International Film Festival of India 2019 is being taking place in Goa.
  • Russia is the focus country at the 50th Edition of International Film Festival of India 2019.

  • IIM Indore has signed an MoU with Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.
  • Aim: To exchange faculty members for various training programmes.

  • Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella has been accorded as the top spot in Fortune’s Businessperson of the Year 2019 list.
