2. Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation

  • Initiative Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) was extended by two more years to 2022 from 2020.
  • Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation was launched by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in June 2015 with the focus to establish infrastructure that could ensure adequate robust sewage networks and water supply for urban transformation by implementing urban revival projects.

2. Global Refugee Forum

  • World’s first Global Refugee Forum held in Geneva, Switzerland.
  • A refugee, generally speaking, is a displaced person who has been forced to cross national boundaries and who cannot return home safely. Such a person may be called an asylum seeker until granted refugee status by the contracting state or the UNHCR if they formally make a claim for asylum.

1. Executive Chairman of Tata Sons

  • National Company Law Appellate Tribunal restored Cyrus Mistry as the Executive Chairman of the Tata Group.
  • NCLAT also held that the appointment of N Chandrasekaran was illegal.

2. CEO of Oracle

  • Safra Catz is appointed as the CEO of Oracle.
  • The decision comes after the tragic death of former CEO Mark Hurd in October 2019 .
  • Oracle Corporation is an American multinational computer technology corporation headquartered in Redwood Shores, California. The company sells database software and technology, cloud engineered systems, and enterprise software products—particularly its own brands of database management systems.

3. Patanjali Ayurveda’s New Acquisition

  • Patanjali Ayurveda has completed the acquisition of Ruchi Soya for Rs 4350 crore.
  • Acharya Balkrishna has been appointed as the chairman and managing director of Ruchi Soya and Swami Ramdev as non-executive director on its newly constituted board.

4. Mahindra Group chairman

  • Anand Mahindra announced his decision to step down as executive chairman of the group from April 1, 2020.
  • The Mahindra Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate holding company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It has operations in over 100 countries around the globe.

1. UWW’s Jr freestyle wrestler of the year

  • World championships silver medallist Deepak Punia has been named the ‘Junior Freestyle Wrestler of the Year’ by United World Wrestling.
  • Deepak Punia, is an Indian freestyle wrestler who won the silver medal at the 2019 World Wrestling Championships in the freestyle 86 kg category and secured a place in the 2020 Summer Olympics.

2. FIDE Women’s Grand Prix (Chess)

  • Grandmaster Koneru Humpy of India finished second in the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix in Monaco.
  • Alexandra Kosteniuk won the Women’s Grand Prix.
