1. Chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations

  • Madhukar Kamath has been elected as the chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for 2019-20.
  • The Audit Bureau of Circulations of India is a non-profit circulation-auditing organisation. It certifies and audits the circulations of major publications, including newspapers and magazines in India. ABC is a voluntary organisation initiated in 1948 that operates in different parts of the world.

2. Sardar Patel National Unity Award

  • Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the creation of ‘Sardar Patel National Unity Award’ to honour work done for India’s Integrity
  • Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, popularly known as Sardar Patel, was an Indian politician. He served as the first Deputy Prime Minister of India.

  • Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has released following books
  • Book ‘Rethinking Good Governance’ is authored by the former CAG, Shri Vinod Rai.

4. Digital Census 2021

  • Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will conduct first-ever Digital Census in 2021.
  • The Ministry of Home Affairs or Home Ministry is a ministry of the Government of India. As the interior ministry of India, it is mainly responsible for the maintenance of internal security and domestic policy. The Home Ministry is headed by Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah.

5. S.K. Padmadevi passes away

  • Veteran actor and multi-faceted artiste SK Padmadevi has passed away.
  • S. K. Padmadevi was an Indian film actress in the Kannada film industry and Tamil-language motion pictures. Padmadevi started working in Kannada theatre in 1930 and remained active at stage till 1960. Later she was associated with All India Radio for two decades. She participated in “Bhakta Sudhama” by Kalaivani.

  • International Day of Sign Languages is celebrated annually across the world on 23 September every year along with International Week of the Deaf.
  • The choice of 23 September is the same date that the WFD was established in 1951.

5. 2019 China Open

  • The 2019 China Open is a tennis tournament to be played on outdoor hard courts. It will be the 21st edition of the China Open for the men.
