1. Retirement Benefits Changes for IAS, IPS, and IFOS Pensioners:
- The central government has revised the retirement benefit regulations for Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, and Indian Forest Service officers.
- The changes grant the central government the discretion to penalize pensioners by either withholding or removing their pension, even without state government’s intervention, especially if they’re implicated in serious misconduct or crimes, notably those under the Official Secrets Act.
