The Indian administration has recently sanctioned key modifications to the Electricity (Rights of Consumers) Rules, 2020. This move signifies a major leap towards empowering consumers and aligns with the country’s goals to lower carbon emissions. The updated regulations aim to expedite the process of securing new electricity connections to just three days in metro cities, seven days in urban areas, and fifteen days in rural locales.

Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has introduced four new platforms with the goal of creating a better business ecosystem, increasing transparency in governmental communications, and providing straightforward access to official government videos. The platforms unveiled include the Press Sewa Portal, Transparent Empanelment Media Planning and eBilling System, NaViGate Bharat Portal, and National Register for LCOs.
