  • Union Government of India has banned Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh and its manifestations.
  • Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen is an Islamic terrorist organisation operating in Bangladesh. It is also listed as a terror group by the UK.

4. Merger of Central Statistics Office and National Sample Survey Office

  • Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has decided to merge Central Statistics Office and National Sample Survey Office.
  • The new merger will be known as National Statistical Office.
  • The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is a ministry of Government of India. Concerned with coverage and quality aspects of statistics released. The surveys conducted by the Ministry are based on scientific sampling methods. The current head of the ministry is DV Sadananda Gowda.

1. Swansea University International Dylan Thomas Prize 2019

  • Writer Guy Gunaratne has awarded Swansea University International Dylan Thomas Prize 2019.
  • for his debut novel ‘In Our Mad and Furious City’.
  • Guy Gunaratne grew up in North West London and has worked as a designer, documentary filmmaker and video journalist covering post-conflict areas around the world, as well as co-founding two technology companies. He was shortlisted for the 4th Estate/Guardian Books B4ME Short Story Prize.

2. Binyavanga Wainaina passes away

  • Binyavanga Wainaina was a Kenyan author, journalist and 2002 winner of the Caine Prize for African Writing.
  • In April 2014, Time magazine included Wainaina in its annual TIME 100 as one of the “Most Influential People in the World”.

3. 72nd annual Cannes Film Festival

  • The 72nd annual Cannes Film Festival was concluded at Cannes, France.
  • Palme d’Or – “Parasite,” Bong Joon-ho
  • The Palme d’Or is the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Film Festival. It was introduced in 1955 by the festival’s organizing committee.

1. Cryptocurrency GlobalCoin

  • Facebook will be launching its cryptocurrency, internally named ‘GlobalCoin’.
  • Facebook, Inc. is an American online social media and social networking service company based in Menlo Park, California. It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, along with fellow Harvard College students and roommates Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.

2. New Space India Limited

  • New Space India Limited (NSIL) was inaugurated in Bengaluru.
  • New Space India Limited is the commercial arm of Indian Space Research Organisation.
  • NSIL was incorporated for commercially utilising RnD carried out by ISRO.

3. SD Association with Huawei

  • The SD Association is a non-profit organization that sets memory card standards intended to simplify the use and optimize the performance of consumer electronics that people use in every country.

  • 2. Kylian Mbappé (PSG) 33 Goals
  • 3. Fabio Quagliarella (Sampdoria) 26 Goals
  • The European Golden Shoe is an award that is presented each season to the leading goalscorer in league matches from the top division of every European national league. The trophy is a sculpture of a football boot.
