1. PM Modi Leads 8th NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the eighth meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council, which took place at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan in the newly established Convention Centre.
- The primary theme of the meeting was ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Role of Team India’. Topics under discussion encompassed vital areas such as healthcare, skill development, women’s empowerment, and infrastructure. The objective is to navigate India towards the status of a developed nation by 2047.
- During the meeting, eight pivotal themes were tackled, including emphasizing MSMEs, prioritizing infrastructure and investments, reducing compliance, focusing on health and nutrition, enhancing skill development, and the Gati Shakti initiative for regional and social infrastructure development.
- This gathering coincided with India’s tenure as the G20 President, reflecting the G20’s theme of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’, which underscores India’s age-old values and its vision for worldwide cooperation.

2. PhonePe’s Landmark Achievement with RuPay Credit Cards and UPI
- PhonePe has set a new benchmark by being the inaugural digital payment platform to link as many as two lakh RuPay credit cards with the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
- The digital platform has recorded a total payment value (TPV) of Rs 150 crore via RuPay credit on the UPI network.
- In association with NPCI, PhonePe has rolled out extensive RuPay Credit on UPI solutions. This has facilitated the acceptance of RuPay Credit Cards on UPI across an expansive network of 12 million merchant outlets.

3. R Dinesh Assumes Role of CII President for 2023-24
- R Dinesh has been elected as the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the 2023-24 tenure by the CII’s National Council.
- Currently serving as the Executive Vice-Chairman at TVS Supply Chain Solutions, he succeeds Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman and Managing Director of Bajaj Finserv Limited.
- Sanjiv Puri, who is the Chairman and Managing Director of ITC Ltd, will act as the President-Designate of CII for the specified duration.
- Rajiv Memani has assumed the Vice-President position of CII for the year 2023-24.
