World Bank has inked $165 million Loan Agreement with Odisha Government and Government of India to support smallholder farmers.

It comprises two institutions: the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the International Development Association.

Arun Kumar Sahu has been accredited as the next High Commissioner of India to Grenada.

2. India and USA sign SoI

India and USA have signed Statement of Intent to develop a range of warfighting technologies and systems.
The Statement of Intent was signed at 9th edition of India US Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI) 2019 held in New Delhi.

3. Blind Beetle

British Natural History Museum named Blind Beetle after climate activist Greta Thunberg.
Greta Thunberg is a Swedish teenage environmental activist on climate change whose campaigning has gained international recognition.
She is known for her blunt, straightforward speaking manner, both in public and to political leaders and assemblies, in which she urges immediate action to address what she describes as the climate crisis.

4. New President of Republic of Botswana

5. World Day for Audiovisual Heritage

The World Day for Audiovisual Heritage takes place every 27 October.
This commemorative day was chosen by UNESCO in 2005 to raise awareness of the significance and preservation risks of recorded sound and audiovisual documents.

1. India’s GDP Growth Forecast by Fitch ratings

For Fiscal Year FY20 it is 5.5% from its previous estimate of 6.6%.
The GDP is expected to increase to 6.2% Fiscal Year FY21.
Fitch Ratings Inc. is an American credit rating agency and is one of the “Big Three credit rating agencies”, the other two being Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s.
It is one of the three nationally recognized statistical rating organizations designated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 1975.

Arvind Singh has been appointed as the chairman of Airports Authority of India.

3. New chief of National Highways Authority of India

Sukhbir Singh Sandhu has been appointed as the chief of the National Highways Authority of India.
The National Highways Authority of India is an autonomous agency of the Government of India, set up in 1988 and is responsible for management of a network of over 50,000 km of National Highways out of 1,15,000 km in India. It is a nodal agency of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

4. Indian Overseas Bank with Universal Sompo General Insurance Company

Indian Overseas Bank and Universal Sompo General Insurance have launched co-branded health care plus insurance for users.
Universal Sompo General Insurance Company Limited, Headquartered in Mumbai, is India’s first Public – Private Partnership in General Insurance Industry.
It is a private public joint venture in general insurance where two nationalized banks, namely Allahabad Bank and Indian Overseas Bank, one private sector bank namely Karnataka Bank Ltd, one FMCG namely Dabur Investment Corp and a leading general insurer from Japan namely Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance.

1. Li Xuerui retires

Former olympic champion Li xuerui has retired from Badminton.
Li Xuerui is a retired Chinese professional badminton player, she is one of the most successful players of her time.
She was a gold medallist at 2012 London Olympic in the women’s singles event and was the silver medalists in the 2013 and 2014 World Championships.

2. Emblem of 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games

Paris has unveiled its new emblem of 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Paralympics are a periodic series of international multi-sport events involving athletes with a range of disabilities, including impaired muscle power, impaired passive range of movement, limb deficiency, leg length difference, short stature, hypertonia, ataxia, athetosis, vision impairment and intellectual impairment.
Olympics are leading international sporting events featuring summer and winter sports competitions in which thousands of athletes from around the world participate in a variety of competitions

3. Club World Cup 2021

FIFA granted China to host the inaugural edition of expanded 24-team Club World Cup in 2021.
The 24 format tournament will be held once every four years.
