1. Pankaj Singh Assumes Presidency of the Indian Cycling Federation
- Pankaj Singh, a BJP representative from Noida and the offspring of the Defence Minister of India, Rajnath Singh, has been unanimously chosen as the head of the Cycling Federation of India during the Annual Meeting in Nainital.
- For a successive term, Maninder Pal Singh will serve as the secretary-general, and Sudeesh Kumar from Kerala was selected as the financial overseer.
- States including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Kerala, and Telangana have each introduced two representatives to the Executive Committee.
- On the other hand, states and territories like Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Himachal Pradesh, and Andaman and Nicobar have each nominated one.

2. Commencement of the 7th ‘Ajeya Warrior 2023’ Training Exercise
- India collaborates with the UK to launch the seventh iteration of their joint military exercise, Ajeya Warrior, which is taking place at Salisbury Plains, UK, from April 27 to May 11.
- This biennial event with the UK alternates between both nations. The preceding exercise was held at Chaubatia, Uttarakhand in October of the prior year.
- Its primary objective is to bolster synergy between the two armies while aligning with the UN’s directives.

- NATO’s “Locked Shields” cyber-defense exercise in 2023 – Tallinn, Estonia.
- Ex INIOCHOS-23 featuring the Indian Air Force & Hellenic Air Force of Greece – Andravida Air Base, Greece.

3. April 28 – Recognizing World Day for Safety and Health at Work
- April 28 marks the annual observance of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
- This day is dedicated to heightening awareness and curbing work-related diseases and mishaps on a global scale.
- The 2023 theme emphasizes: “Prioritizing a secure and healthy work setting as an inherent right at the workplace”.
- This global recognition was initiated by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2003 to mitigate workplace hazards.
- This observance coincides with the International Day of Remembrance for the Deceased and Injured Workers, which the worker community has marked since 1996.

4. Passing of the Renowned Malayalam Actor, Mamukkoya
- Celebrated actor from the Malayalam film industry, Mamukkoya, has sadly departed at 76.
- His journey in the world of acting began on the theater stage in 1979, following his tenure in a timber mill located in Kozhikode.
- Mamukkoya’s illustrious career spanned over four decades during which he featured in more than 450 regional movies and even graced a French film named Flammens of Paradise.
- The esteemed actor was acclaimed for his unique use of the Mappila dialect combined with his flawless comedic skills. His outstanding roles in films like Perumazhakkalam and Innathe Chintha Vishayam earned him two Kerala State Film Awards.
