  • In Jharkhand, Grand Alliance leader Hemant Soren will take oath as Chief Minister on the 29th December.
  • He was formally elected the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) legislature party leader.

2. Eat Right Mela

  • Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has inaugurated the 2nd edition of “Eat Right Mela” of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India in New Delhi.

3. Book ‘Politics of Opportunism’

  • Economist and Political Analyst S Gurumurthy released a book titled “Politics of Opportunism: Regional Parties, Coalitions, Centre-State Relations In India”.
  • The book is authored by R P N Singh.
  • Kunwar Ratanjit Pratap Narain Singh, popularly known as Raja Saheb of Padrauna, is an Indian politician and former Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He was a MP from Kushinagar constituency in 15th Lok Sabha.

4. e-auction platform ‘eBkray’

  • Finance Minister has launched an e-auction platform “eBkray“.
  • The platform will enable online auction of attached assets by banks.

International News

1. American Academy of Ophthalmology’s (AAO)’s Life Achievement honour

  • India’s ophthalmologist Dr Santosh G Honavar is conferred with the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s (AAO) highest award Life Achievement honour.
  • He is the first Indian chosen for the honour.

  • Niranjan Hiranandani has taken over as the new president of The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India
  • He will succeed Balkrishan Goenka, the Welspun Group Chairman.

2. Federal Bank with Magicbricks

  • Federal Bank has tied up with Magicbricks for listing and e-auctioning of immovable properties repossessed by it in NPA recovery proceedings.
  • Magicbricks, a division of Times Internet Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd is a website that provides a common platform for property buyers & sellers to locate properties of interest in India, and source information about all property related issues.

3. Kotak Mahindra Bank with Pine Labs

  • Kotak Mahindra Bank has partnered with Pine Labs to enable EMIs on debit cards.
  • Kotak Mahindra Bank is an Indian private sector bank headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. In February 2003, Reserve Bank of India issued the licence to Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd., the group’s flagship company, to carry on banking business.
