1. ‘Atal Setu’
- ‘Atal Setu’ is a 5.1-km long cable-stayed bridge on the Mandovi river in Goa.
- It was opened to public by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
2. The first prize among tableaus in the Republic Day Parade
- The Indian Council of Agricultural Research tableau in the Republic Day Parade has won the first prize for its Kisan Gandhi theme.
- The Indian Council of Agricultural Research is an autonomous body responsible for co-ordinating agricultural education and research in India. It reports to the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture. The Union Minister of Agriculture serves as its president.
3. Tulip Garden in Uttarakhand
- Uttarakhand will have country’s second tulip garden after the one located in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.
- It will be set up over 50 hectares of forest land in Pithoragarh district at a cost of Rs 50 crore.
- ONGC will develop this under its corporate social responsibility programme.
4. Trains Cleanliness Survey conducted by IRCTC
- The Southern Railway is on first position for cleanliness in the ‘Trains Cleanliness Survey’ conducted by IRCTC .
- Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation is a subsidiary of the Indian Railways that handles the catering, tourism and online ticketing operations of the Indian railways, with around 5,50,000 to 6,00,000 bookings every day is the world’s second busiest and highest of 15 to 16 lakh tickets every day.
- The Southern Railway, headquartered at Chennai, is one of the 17 zones of Indian Railways. It is the earliest of the 17 zones of the Indian Railways created in independent India. || Headquarters: Chennai

- Data Privacy Day is an international holiday that occurs every 28 January. It is currently observed in the United States, Canada, Israel and 47 European countries.
- The purpose of Data Privacy Day is to raise awareness and promote privacy and data protection best practices.
4. New Prime Minister of Burkina Faso
- Christophe Joseph Marie Dabiré has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Burkina Faso.
- Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in West Africa. It covers an area of around 274,200 square kilometres and is surrounded by six countries: Mali to the north; Niger to the east; Benin to the southeast; Togo and Ghana to the south; and Ivory Coast to the southwest.

1. 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards
- The 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, honouring the best achievements in film and television performances for the year 2018, were presented on January 27, 2019 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.
- Outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama TV series: ‘This Is Us’

2. Programme for International Student Assessment- PISA 2021
- HRD Ministry has signed an agreement with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development for India’s Participation in Programme for International Student Assessment- PISA 2021.
- The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development is an intergovernmental economic organisation with 36 member countries, founded in 1961 to stimulate economic progress and world trade.
- The Programme for International Student Assessment is a worldwide study by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in member and non-member nations intended to evaluate educational systems by measuring 15-year-old school pupils’ scholastic performance on mathematics, science, and reading.
3. A report by World Steel Association
- India has replaced Japan as the world’s second-largest steel producing country.
- China retained the Top producer of crude steel for more than 51% of production.
4. Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) refinery expansion complex
- PM Modi has inaugurated an integrated Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) refinery expansion complex in Kochi, Kerala.
- Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited is a Government of India controlled Maharatna oil and gas company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The Corporation operates two large refineries of the country located in Mumbai and Kochi.

1. Ewen Chatfield has retired
- New Zealand pacer Ewen Chatfield has retired from cricket at the age of 68.
- He is famously known as the Naenae Express.
2. 2019 Davis Cup Tournament
- The 2019 Davis Cup will be the 108th edition of the Davis Cup, a tournament between national teams in men’s tennis. It is sponsored by BNP Paribas.
- It will start from 1 Feb, 2019 to 24 Nov, 2019.
