  • The Cabinet has approved to setup of the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) Bill, 2018.
  • Homeopathy or homeopathy is a system of alternative medicine created in 1796 by Samuel Hahnemann, based on his doctrine of like cures like, a claim that a substance that causes the symptoms of a disease in healthy people would cure similar symptoms in sick people.

3. World’s oldest yoga institute

  • President Kovind has inaugurated the centenary celebrations of The Yoga Institute.
  • The Yoga Institute is a government recognized non-profit organisation, known as the oldest organized yoga center in the world. It was founded by Shri Yogendra, who was one of the important figures in the modern revival of Hatha Yoga. It is headquartered at Santacruz in Mumbai, India.
  • The Yoga Institute is the world’s oldest organized institute of yoga studies and the country’s first Yoga school certified by the Quality Council of India, Ministry of AYUSH.

4. India’s largest conglomerate in terms of market capitalisation

  • According to Bloomberg, HDFC Group has become the largest conglomerate in terms of market capitalisation in India overtaking TATA Group.
  • Deepak Parekh is the Chairman of Housing Development Finance Corporation, India’s leading housing finance company. He is based in Mumbai. He is from Gujarat.

2. 2019 AFC Asian Cup

  • India will start its campaign against Thailand.
  • The 2019 AFC Asian Cup will be the 17th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, the quadrennial international men’s football championship of Asia organised by the Asian Football Confederation. It will be held in the United Arab Emirates from 5 January to 1 February 2019.

3. R R Lakshya Cup 2018
