2. ‘Samwad with Students’ Initiative

  • ‘Samwad with Students’ Initiative is launched by ISRO that will engage youngsters across the nation in activities concerning space science.
  • The Indian Space Research Organisation is the space agency of the Government of India headquartered in the city of Bengaluru. Its vision is to “harness space technology for national development while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration.”

4. BVR Mohan Reddy Panal

  • BVR Mohan Reddy(IIT- Hyderabad chairman) Panal has suggested AICTE not to allow new Engineering colleges from 2020.

International News

1. US and Israel exit UNESCO

  • USA and Israel have officially quitted United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
  • The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations based in Paris.

2. Agreement on the Prohibition of Attack against Nuclear installations

  • ‘Agreement on the Prohibition of Attack against Nuclear installations’, The Non-nuclear aggression agreement is a bilateral and nuclear weapons control treaty between India and Pakistan, on the reduction (or limitation) of nuclear arms and pledged not to attack or assist foreign powers to attack on each’s nuclear installations and facilities.
  • Under the 1988 agreement, the two countries inform each other of nuclear installations and facilities on the start of every year.

3. Brazil’s 42nd president

  • Jair Bolsonaro was sworn in as the 42nd president of Brazil.
  • Brazil: Capital: Brasilia || Currency: Brazilian real.

4. Qatar has withdrawn from OPEC

  • Qatar had sent an official notification to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries for the same.
  • Qatar will focus on its liquefied natural gas production.
  • The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries is an intergovernmental organisation of 14 nations, founded in 1960 in Baghdad by the first five members, and headquartered since 1965 in Vienna, Austria.

1. Export Promotion cell for MSMEs

  • Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises has inked an export promotion cell to create a sustainable ecosystem for MSMEs.
  • The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, a branch of the Government of India, is the apex body for the formulation and administration of rules, regulations and laws relating to micro, small and medium enterprises in India.

2. New LIC Chairman

  • Hemant Bhargava has been appointed Life Insurance Corporation’s Acting Chairman replacing VK Sharma.
  • Life Insurance Corporation of India is an Indian state-owned insurance group and investment company headquartered in Mumbai. It is the largest insurance company in India with an estimated asset value of ₹2,529,390 crore.

3. New Executive Chairman of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA)

  • Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri has been appointed as Executive Chairman of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
  • National Legal Services Authority of India was formed on 5 December 1995 under the authority of the Legal Services Authorities Act 1987. Its purpose is to provide free legal services to eligible candidates, and to organize Lok Adalats for speedy resolution of cases.

3. Legion of Honour to France‘s football team

  • The France World Cup winning team were awarded the Legion of Honour.
  • The Legion of Honour is the highest French order of merit for military and civil merits, established in 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte and retained by all the divergent governments and regimes later holding power in France, up to the present.

4. World Memory Championships

  • Dhruv Manoj won two gold medals at the World Memory Championships held in Hong Kong
  • Dhruv Manoj is a 12-year-old Indian-origin student from Singapore.
