  • Securing the second position in this solo global sailing challenge, he initiated his journey from Les Sables-d’Olonne, France, on September 4, 2022.
  • Kirsten Neuschafer from South Africa also made history as the premier woman to clinch the Golden Globe Race, which demands a solo voyage around the world without the assistance of contemporary technology.

2. Ajit Kumar Mohanty Takes the Helm of Atomic Energy Commission

  • Renowned for his directorship at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Ajit Kumar Mohanty has been designated the head of the Atomic Energy Commission and the principal secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy. He will serve in this capacity until he turns 66, which will be on October 10, 2025.
