1. India’s First Standardised Modern Ship Design for National Waterway-1

• Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) will make India’s First Standardised Modern Ship Design for National Waterway-1 for River Ganga.
• The National Waterway 1 or NW-1 or Ganga-Bhagirathi-Hooghly river system is located in India and runs from Haldia (Sagar) to Allahabad across the Ganges, Bhagirathi and Hooghly river systems. It is 1,620 km (1,010 mi) long, making it the longest waterway in India.

2. National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) Bhubaneswar

• National Skill Training Institute(NSTI)’s Mancheswar Campus, Bhubaneswar was inaugurated by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan
• Dharmendra Pradhan is the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

3. Krishna Kutir – A home for 1000 widows

• It is inaugurated by Maneka Sanjay Gandhi and Adityanath Yogi at Vrindavan,UP
• Krishna Kutir is a special home for 1000 widows set up under Swadhar Greh scheme by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

4. Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements

• HRD Ministry has launched the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) which is named after former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
• It will rank educational institutions on basis of innovation output parameter.

International News

1. Fourth BIMSTEC Summit Declaration

• Fourth BIMSTEC Summit Declaration was concluded in Kathmandu, Nepal.
• Theme:-‘Towards a Peaceful, Prosperous and Sustainable Bay of Bengal Region’.

2. SAARC Agri Cooperative Business Forum

• SAARC Agri Cooperative Business Forum has begun in Kathmandu,Nepal.
• Theme:-‘Organizing and Strengthening Family Farmers’.

3. NVIDIA partnered in MoveHack

• NVIDIA is deep learning technology partner in MoveHack Hackathon.
• Nvidia Corporation is an American technology company incorporated in Delaware and based in Santa Clara, California.

Business News

1. India Post Payments Bank

• Narendra Modi, will launch the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on September 1st, 2018.
• IPPB will have 650 Branches and 3250 Access Points spread across the country.

2. RBI’s annual report

• Real GDP growth for 2018-19 is expected to 7.4% from 6.7% in the previous years.
• Governor:-Urjit Patel(24th Governor) , Headquarters:- Mumbai, RBI was established on 1st April 1935 in Kolkata.

3. Freecharge with AbhiBus.com

• Freecharge has expanded its product portfolio by partnering with AbhiBus.com.
• This will allow Freecharge to enable more than 1 lakh routes and 2,500 bus operators.

1. Asian Games 2018

• Indian women’s squash team defeated Malaysia to advance to final.
• Indian men’s squash team settled for a bronze.
• Vikas Krishan was declared medically unfit to compete hence settled for bronze.

2. UEFA Awards

• Best Goalkeeper:- Keylor Navas
• Best Defender:- Sergio Ramos
• Best Midfilder:- Luka Modrić

3. Asian Games 2018: Sailing Event

• Varsha Gautam and Shweta Shervegar win silver in 49er FX Women.
