1. Pravasi Bharatiya Samman
- Dr. Rajendra Kumar Joshi has been awarded with Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award for his contributions in the field of science, education and medicine.
- The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman is an award constituted by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India in conjunction with the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, to honour exceptional and meritorious contribution in their chosen field/profession. The award is given by the President of India.
2. Highest State Honour of Bolivia to President Kovind
- President Kovind has been conferred with ‘Condor de Los Andes en el Grado de Gran Collar’, which is the highest State Honour of Bolivia.

1. Paris Book Fair 2020
- India will be the guest country at the Paris Book Fair in 2020.
- France will be the guest country at the New Delhi World Book Fair in 2022.
2. World Piano day
- World Piano Day was observed on 30th March.
- In 2015, German Pianist, Nils Frahm declared the 88th day of a year as the World Piano Day, as modern standard pianos have 88 keys.
- Nils Frahm is a German musician, composer, and record producer based in Berlin. He is known for combining classical and electronic music and for an unconventional approach to the piano in which he mixes a grand piano, upright piano, Roland Juno-60, Rhodes piano, drum machines, and Moog Taurus.

1. GAIL India Ltd with Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd
- GAIL India and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd have inked an MoU for cooperation in the development of solar power projects.
- India has set a target to achieve 100 GW of solar power by 2022.
- Gail Limited is the largest state-owned natural gas processing and distribution company in India. It is headquartered in New Delhi.
- Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited owned and founded by the Government of India, is an engineering and manufacturing company based in New Delhi, India. Established in 1964, BHEL is India’s largest power generation equipment manufacturer.
2. ‘Sankalp’ App
- Bongaigaon district administration of Assam has developed a mobile app Sankalp to particularly reach out to the first-time voters.

3. Pact to check tax evasion by MNCs
- India and USA signed an agreement for exchange of country-by-country (CbC) Report in taxation-related matter.
- The agreement was signed by PC Mody, Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), and Kenneth I Juster, US Ambassador to India.

1. ASEAN School Games
- ASEAN School Games 2019 will be held in Semarang city Indonesia in July.
- The Association of Southeast Asian Nations is a regional intergovernmental organization comprising ten countries in Southeast Asia, which promotes intergovernmental cooperation.
2. Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament
- The 2019 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup was the 28th edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. It was held in Ipoh, Malaysia.
- South Korea defeated India in Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament final
- Hosts Malaysia defeated Canada to secure 3rd place in the Tournament.
- The Sultan Azlan Shah Cup is an annual international men’s field hockey tournament held in Malaysia. It began in 1983 as a biennial contest. The tournament became an annual event after 1998, following its growth and popularity. The tournament is named after the ninth King of Malaysia, Sultan Azlan Shah, an avid fan of field hockey.
3. Tim Cahill retires
- Tim Cahill is an Australian former professional footballer who last played for Jamshedpur FC in the Indian Super League and played for the Australia national team.
- Jamshedpur Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The club has competed as a member of Indian Super League since the 2017–18 season under licence from the All India Football Federation.
