1. Statue of Unity
- PM Modi has inaugurated Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s memorial on the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Narmada, Gujarat.
- The bronze sculpture Statue of Unity is the world’s tallest statue measuring 600 feet (182m). The tallest statue before this was China’s Spring Temple Buddha (153m).
2. 24th edition of the India-Italy Technology Summit
- Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has visited India to participate at the 24th edition of the India-Italy Technology Summit.
- The Technology Summit was organised by the Department of Science and Technology with the Confederation of Indian Industry.
3. 2018 International Film Festival of India
- 49th International Film Festival of India announced the selection of Indian Panorama films for the year, 2018 to be screened in Goa.
- The Feature Film Jury of thirteen members was headed by Rahul Rawail.
- The International Film Festival of India was founded in 1952 and is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. Held annually in Goa.
4. Venkaiah Naidu embarks on first Africa Visit
- VP Venkaiah Naidu embarked on his first Africa (Botswana, Zimbabwe and Malawi) visit from 31st October to November 6
- Naidu is an Indian politician and the current Vice-President of India, in office since 11 August 2017. Previously, he served as the Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Urban Development and Information and Broadcasting in the Modi Cabinet.

1. World Cities Day
- World Cities Day was observed on october-31.
- Theme :- ‘Better City, Better Life’.
2. Parker solar probe
- Parker Solar Probe has recorded for closest approach to the sun by a human-made object.
- Parker Solar Probe is a NASA robotic spacecraft en route to probe the outer corona of the Sun. It will approach to within 9.86 solar radii from the center of the Sun and will travel, at closest approach, as fast as 690,000 km/h. The project was announced in the fiscal 2009 budget year.

- Jair Bolsonaro has been elected the president of Brazil.

4. Airport in the South Pole
- China will be building its 1st permanent airport in the South Pole.

1. World’s first sovereign Blue Bond
- Seychelles has launched world’s first sovereign blue bond worth US$15 million.
- The aim of these bonds is to finance sustainable marine and fisheries projects.
- he bond was launched at ‘Our Ocean Conference’ in Bali and Seychelles being the first coutry to endorse it.
2. SBI with Hitachi Payments
- SBI and Hitachi Payment Services in an agreement to form a joint venture for a card acceptance and digital payment platform.
- Hitachi Payment Services India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Group, Japan.
3. World Savings Day / World Thrift day
- World Savings Day or World Thrift day was on october-31.
- This day was marked during the 1st International Savings Bank Congress (World Society of Savings Banks) in Milano, Italy.

1. North East Olympic Games 2018
- 1st edition of North East Olympic Games 2018 was concluded in Imphal, Manipur.
- Manipur was crowned as the champions with 159 medals: 80 Gold, 48 Silver and 31 Bronze.
- The 2nd edition of North East Olympic Games will be held in Arunachal Pradesh in 2019.

- Max Verstappen won the Mexican Grand Prix, in Mexico.
- Max Emilian Verstappen is a Dutch racing driver who competes in Formula One with Red Bull Racing.
4. Men’s hockey World Cup 2018
- Tata Steel has been named as an official partner for the Men’s hockey World Cup 2018.
- The 2018 Men’s Hockey World Cup will be the 14th edition of the Hockey World Cup field hockey tournament. It is scheduled to be held from 28 November to 16 December 2018, at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, India.
